Riesling with a refreshing character
The grapes for our werk2 wines grow in Hattenheim- in the Schützenhaus and Hassel areas, which are partly classified as Erstes Gewächs.
The foothills of the Taunus protect the vineyards from the harsh winds. On the southern slopes our grapes are spoiled by an almost year-round sun.
Quality is sometimes a question of time. The werk2 Rieslings get as much time as they need. Whether it is in the work in the vineyards or harvesting the
grapes or the cellar work, perfect timing is of the highest priority. For us the question of quality is higher than quantity. Of course we also want to sell,
but as a part time winemaker, we have more time to maneuver when waiting for the right moment. Why do our Riesling names come from the IT world? That’s easy:
In the werk2 winery Hans-Joachim Klose produces wines with character which bear his trademarks: commitment and know-how. An original, in both meanings of the word.
